All concrete coatings inquiries from Cutting Edge Flooring Services LLC start with a free estimate from one of our dedicated project managers to identify the size of the area, the condition of the concrete or space, and the conditions of the job site for example, indoors/outdoors, electricity, ventilation, etc. We can help answer any questions you have about the process, benefits, and design suggestions. A customized quote is then created for approval. The process typically takes 2-3 days depending on the square footage and another 2 days to dry.
Concrete epoxy process
Regardless of which coating is chosen by the customer, preparations begin with grinding and crack filling. Our skilled technicians use a diamond-tooled concrete grinder to ensure the surface is at a concrete profile level 2. This will increase the bond between the coating and the concrete. All spalling and cracks are filled with a quick-drying urethane compound and silica sand. A moisture barrier epoxy is recommended in all commercial kitchen/bathroom applications, as well as basements. The next step depends on which concrete coating application is selected by the customer.

Concrete staining
An acetone dye is generously applied in your choice of 27 different colors, and hundreds of color combinations. It’s followed by a urethane topcoat. Aluminum oxide or sand is applied with the topcoat to provide traction and slip resistance.
Epoxy flake or quartz
These offer a long-lasting, extremely durable, mold/mildew resistant flooring option. A base color of 100% solid epoxy is applied in which the flake or quartz is then broadcast into the wet epoxy. A full broadcast is recommended by Cutting Edge Flooring Services LLC because it provides an extra layer of wear resistance and slip resistance. A urethane

Metallic epoxy
A base layer of epoxy is put down. The metallic epoxy is then applied, and designs are manufactured into the metallic epoxy. A urethane topcoat is applied with aluminum oxide to give the floor some traction and slip resistance.
